White Throated Bee-Eaters
I thought these lovely bee-eaters with their brightly coloured markings, which were in an acacia tree were worth painting in watercolour which would suit my style!
Bramble’s coat was overdue for a trim/strip! I chose to paint Bramble with her scruffy appearance. Alas, she’s back to normal these days with a neat short coat. I chose acrylic on this occasion as I thought it would suit the composition.
Amur Winter Wilderness
Alas, this tiger was from Colchester Zoo. I would love to see them in the wild! I decided to try a snow scene using watercolour with a little white gouche for the snowflakes.
This pheasant was photographed from my patio doors. It was seeking the leftovers that had fallen from the bird table.
This painting took a few days to sketch out to get the perspective right before starting on the painting. I wanted an impressionistic/contemporary feel and decided on using pastel.
I was doing an exhibition on the Cathedral Close in Salisbury and decided to do another cathedral painting from a different view point.
Early Morning, Harnham
Inside Salisbury Cathedral
I just loved the atmosphere inside the Cathedral and decided to use oil pastels which was relatively new to me and chose a warm feeling to the composition to enhance the beautiful blue stained glass back window!
